These amounts allow for one 5 ounce glass of wine per person per hour. This average also takes into consideration the possibility of one guest only having one glass of wine and another having four glasses of wine during the event.

Other considerations :

•  If the event includes the service of spirits and beer, try to estimate the amount of guests who will be drinking wine and base your amounts on that number.

•  As an example, if you are planning an event with 100 guests, but only 50 people will be drinking wine.... you will only need 25 750ml bottles of wine.

•  If you don't know the specific preferences of your guests, the most reliable distribution between red and white wine would be half red and half white.
