La Puerta Chardonnay 2004
Exotic aromas of white flowers, tropical fruit, peach and vanilla laced fruit cocktail suggest that there may be another varietal, such as Torrontes or Viognier, blended into this value minded white wine. In the mouth, this wine carries a soft, oily-textured, easy drinker demeanor that resounds pear and apples, with a hint of eucalyptus in the finish.

La Puerta Merlot 2004
Textbook Merlot here with aromas and flavors of sweet red cherries and raspberries. The wine carries plenty of structure, acidity and tannin, so aeration allows the wine to become a candied, silky textured, mouthwatering wine without the greenness often associated with this varietal in Argentina.

La Puerta Cabernet Sauvignon 2004
This is one the very best Cabernet's for under $10 that we have tasted in quite some time. It is deeply colored, with complex aromas of red cherries, plums, grilled meat, white pepper and cedar. Impressive in the mouth, it shows expansive flavors of plums, dark berries, black tea, smoky currant and vibrant acidity. This wine show a lot of tannin for it's price level, so decanting is recommended to help it flesh out a bit.

La Puerta Malbec 2004
As the popularity of this varietal has exploded, so have the number of poor examples showing up on grocery store shelves. We feel that you would have a difficult time finding another Malbec at this price that compete with La Puerta for depth, breadth, complexity and length. The color is almost an impenetrable purple. The aromas are layered, with notes of black raspberries, currants, crushed berries, cocoa and grilled meat. In the mid-palate, the wine pure, supple and medium to full-bodied. The flavors are just an extension of the aromas intertwined with plums, chocolate and toasty oak. This wine is incredibly versatile with food, perfect for summer entertaining and a tremendous value.
